Islamic Mosque Center (Samarinda)

Islamic Mosque Center            This mosque is the second largest mosque in Southeast Asia after the Istiqlal Mosque and  Al Akbar Mosque, with the foreground  in the form of the Mahakam River Bank. The mosque has a tower with 99 meters tall and a large dome. Islamic Mosque Center Samarinda has a building area of 43,500 square meters. The location where it was founded previously was a sawmill owned by PT. Inhutani which was granted to the Goverment of the province of East Kalimantan. The construction process began on  5 July 2001 development process by President Megawati Soekarno Putri and seven years later the complex was inaugurated by President Dr. H. Susilo Bambang Yudoyono on 16 June 2008.  

Kumala Island (Samarinda)

              Kumala Island          Kumala Island is a delta area that resembles a small island in the middle of the Mahakam River. This small island extends to the west of Tenggarong City, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. From year 2000, the 76 hectare land was designed by the local goverment to become a recreational tourism park whose architecture is a blend of modern technology and also a traditional culture. Inside Kumala Island there are a traditional building called Lamin, that is a the house of Dayak tribe and also a temple called Pasak Pulau Temple which is one of worship of Hindus in Kutai Kartanegara district.   

Unmul Botanical Garden (Samarinda)

Unmul Botanical Garden           Unmul Botanical Garden is an area of Lempake Forest Education, Faculty of Forestt of Mulawarman University. This place originally an area of HPH concession area of CV Kayu Mahakam which has been selectively cut. The Chancellor of Mulawan University at that time is Ir. R. H. Sambas Wirakusumah, M.sc. asked one area on a 300 hectare green area to Ali Akbar as HPH concession holder of CV Kayu Mahakam to become an Educational Forest of Foresty Faculty.  

Pampang Village (Samarinda)

Pampang Village Pampang Village or as known as Pampang Cultural Village is a traditional Dayak Village located at Siring River. The Apokayan and Kenyah as Dayak Sub-tribe live around the Lamin House which is a traditional architecture for various indigenous cultural activities. In Pampang Village the local people will do a ritual ceremony to celebrate a birthday called Pelas Tahun and also the Junan Ritual Ceremony as a tradition of hundred of years to take sugar from sugarcane stalks which are squeezed using ironwood.
