Pampang Village


Pampang Village or as known as Pampang Cultural Village is a traditional Dayak Village located at Siring River. The Apokayan and Kenyah as Dayak Sub-tribe live around the Lamin House which is a traditional architecture for various indigenous cultural activities. In Pampang Village the local people will do a ritual ceremony to celebrate a birthday called Pelas Tahun and also the Junan Ritual Ceremony as a tradition of hundred of years to take sugar from sugarcane stalks which are squeezed using ironwood.

This place originally an area of HPH concession area of CV Kayu Mahakam which has been selectively cut. The Chancellor of Mulawan University at that time is Ir. R. H. Sambas Wirakusumah, M.sc. asked one area on a 300 hectare green area to Ali Akbar as HPH concession holder of CV Kayu Mahakam to become an Educational Forest of Foresty Faculty.
