1. Tugu Pahlawan

Heroes Monument, also known as Heroic Monument (Indonesian Language: Tugu Pahlawan) is a monument in Surabaya, Indonesia. It is the main symbol of the city, dedicated to the people who died during the Battle of Surabaya on 10 November 1945 in which the people of Surabaya fought against Allied and Dutch forces who wished to occupy Indonesia again. Heroes Monument is located in the centre of Surabaya in the Jl Pahlawan, in front of the East Java Governor's office, stands a 41 meter high. The monument has become Surabaya's landmark and is shaped as an upside down nail. It was build on a 2.5 hectare piece of land that used to be the High Courthouse (Raad van Justitie) in the Dutch colonial times. During the Japanese occupation the building was used as the base camp for the military police where many Indonesians were trialed and tortured for their resistance against the Japanese occupation. During the Battle of Surabaya in 10 November 1945 the Courthouse was destroyed by the Allies. President Sukarno laid the first stone of the monument on 10th November 1951, exactly six years after the battle. One year later, on the same date, the building was opened for public. A museum was opened later, the Perjuangan Sepuluh November 1945, about the battle. There are collections of weapons, diorama of the Battle, photos and statues. All in all the museum gives a good overview of the Battle.
2. Museum MPU Tantular
The Museum collection amount to about 15000 items, The collections come from
prehistory epoch, Hindu-Buddha, Islam epoch, Colonial and Modern. Mpu Tantular Museum is continuation from Stedelijk Historich. Surabaya Museum that built by Von Faber, a Germany collector and permanent in Surabaya. He built the museum since 1922 and can be realized in 1933, and has just been opened on 25 Junes 1937.Name of Stedelijk Historich Surabaya Museum in 1972 altered become East Java Museum by 1 Novembers 1974 by the name of Museum Negeri Propinsi Jawa Timur "Mpu Tantular". 3. Siola Building
Siola is the name of a building in Surabaya, located on Tunjungan Street.
You can get here from Tunjungan City because both are situated very close to each other. This is a heritage of the colonial era, so it is by no means a new building. It has been around for decades, first built in 1877. It has been used by different people and for different purposes. At that time, the building was occupied by Whiteaway Laidlaw & Co.This company wax owned by a British named Robert Laidlaw. The store sold different kinds of clothing. This was very popular in its heyday and regarded as one of the biggest stores across the Dutch East Indies. Let’s talk about the Siola Building today. On May 3rd, Tri Rismaharini as Mayor of Surabaya inaugurated the grand opening of the Surabaya Museum. It is located right inside the building. If you want to know what the museum looks like, just come here to see it in person. It does not take admission to enter the building. It is open to the public from 09:00 to 21:00. This building is no longer a store like it was back then because the owner died in 1935. Once he passed away, the company was closed and the production was discontinued. This historic building witnessed the struggle of the people of Surabaya.
4. Museum Sampoerna



Situated in “ old Surabaya”, this stately dutch colonial style compound was built in 1862 and is now a preserved historical site. Previously used as an orphanage managed by the dutch, it was purchased in 1932 by liem seeng tee, the founder of sampoerna, with the intent of it being used as sampoerna’s first major cigarette production facility.the compound consisted of a large central auditorium, two smaller buildings on the east and west sides and numerous large, single story, open space structures behind the central auditorium. The side buildings were converted to family residences and the large warehouse like structures were used to accommodate facilities for tobacco and clove processing, blending, hand rolling and packaging, printing and finished goods processing. Today the compound is still functioning as a production plant for indonesia’s most prestigious cigarette, dji sam soe. In commemoration of sampoerna’s 90th anniversary in 2003, the central complex has been painstakingly restored and is now open to public. The original central auditorium is now a museum and a shop. The east side has been transformed into a unique structure containing a café and an art gallery. The building on the west side remains the official family residence.
5. Monument Kapal Selam

The original KRI Pasopati 410 submarine next to the Surabaya Plaza shopping center. It is 76.6 meters long and 6.3 meters wide. It was moved from Ujung to this location on July 1st, 1995, after the museum was officially opened by Arief Kushariadi, the Naval Commander of the Republic of Indonesia on June 27, 1998.
